The party`s secretary general, Idrus Marham, said here on Tuesday the names already mentioned were the ones that had been known so far.
"They include Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X (governor of Yogyakarta), Pramono Anung (Deputy House Speaker), Dahlan Iskan (state enterprises minister) and Prabowo Subianto (chief patron of the Gerindra Party). There were certain reasons and considerations for choosing them as Pak Ical (Aburizal Bakrie)`s partner," he said.
Idrus said although Golkar had already chosen them it still had yet to seek approval for them from the people.
"We will ask the people which one of them they consider fit for being named a vice presidential candidate to pair up with Pak Ical," he said.
Regarding Ical`s plan to run for president in 2014 Idrus said all Golkar cadres would continue campaigning for it.
But before Golkar officially names its ticket Golkar cadres must first make three successes.
"The first is success in the nomination of Aburizal Bakrie as a presidential candidate by assuring that his nomination programs are done well. Secondly, success in the nomination of presidential and vice presidential candidates from Golkar Party that will make Ical`s nomination as presidential candidate successful and thirdly success to make Golkar`s presidency, if Golkar cadre is elected, successful. This program will assure improvement of the people`s welfare during Ical`s presidency," he said.
In the national working meeting recently all regional boards of Golkar Party and the party`s wings agreed to nominate Ical as a presidential candidate.
