Tene said the Foreign Ministry had not received information from the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok concerning Indonesians in the floods in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Southern Thailand.
"We have not yet received any information from the Indonesian embassy in Bangkok on the possible presence of Indonesians in the flood affected region but the Indonesian government has pro-actively provided financial and other kinds of assistance to Thailand," said Tene.
Tene said that during the floods that hit Thailand earlier in 2011, the Indonesian Embassy had also helped to evacuate Indonesians, especially students in Bangkok and surrounding areas.
"But the Embassy in Bangkok is also ready to provide assistance to Indonesians trapped by the floods in southern Thailand," he added.
Earlier, on October 24, 2011 the Indonesian government through its coordinating ministry for people`s welfare had extended financial assistance worth one milllion US dollars to flood-ravaged Thailand.
The floods in southern Thailand were caused by heavy rain in the Khao Luang mountain region in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani provinces.
The volume of rain water that fell on the mountain region was so large that it was feared the soil could no longer contain the water thus creating the threat of mudslides and flash floods.
The Thai government had declared the province a major disaster area after flood waters had affected and isolated 100 thousand people in 11 districts.
The flood waters that inundated Nakhon Si Thammarat province is reported to be 40-50 centimeters high but reached up to two meters in the region`s outskirts.
Two teenagers were also reported killed in the floods after their motorcycles were washed away on the Na Pru-Benjama highway.
In Kanchanadit district, a fisherman went missing after his boat was struck by a large wave.
