"The deportation of the 83 problematic Indonesian migrant workers by Malaysia on Friday night is the first this year," Juramadi said, adding that they were made up of 63 men and 20 women.
According to him, the workers had been deported because they did not have the required official documents to work in Malaysia.
He said they had been imprisoned one to four months in Malaysia before being deported through Tanjungpinang.
Juramadi added that 22 of the deported problematic migrant workers were sent to their hometowns through Dumai on Sunday morning while the remaining 61 were still waiting for ships to take them to Java by Pelni ship.
He said that in 2011 Malaysia deported a total of 15,539 Indonesian problematic migrant workers, consisting of 10,809 men, 4,730 women, and 327 children. (*)
