Although we have to beat the snow, we always look forward to perform in order to bring the name of Indonesia.London (ANTARA News) - Indonesian jazz musician Indro Hardjodikoro and the "Fingers" rock Russian audiences at Elektrosal City Museum in Moscow, performing Indonesian songs, like "Janger", "Bengawan Solo", and "Panon Hideung" which are famous in Russia as "Ochi Chyornie".
"The Indonesian musicians succeeded of bringing warmth in the snowy winter in Elektrosal City," said a Representative of the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow, M Aji Surya Wednesday.
Surya said, the Indonesian musicians have been performing in closing event of the Indonesian Arts and Cultures Exhibition since October last year.
Besides the performance of Indra and his bands, Indonesian famous jazz singer Dira Sugandi also sung some Indonesian songs in collaboration of "gendang" (Indonesian traditional music instrument) and modern instruments.
"Although we have to beat the snow, we always look forward to perform in order to bring the name of Indonesia," said Hardjodikoro.
Before performing in Elektrosal City, "Indro Hardjodikoro and the Fingers" along with Dira Sugandi performed at Music Town Club in Moscow and at Winter Petrojazz in St.Petersburg.
Meanwhile, the ad interim Charge d`Affaires of the Indonesia Embassy Dian Wirengjurit said the performance of the musicians was only a tiny part of Indonesian arts and culture.
"We want to show the Russians that Indonesia is rich in arts and culture. We also want to show them that our ethnic musics can be collaborated in jazz compositions," she said.
In the meantime, Head of the Culture and Administration of Youth Policy of Elektrosal City Svetlana Klimanova said the performance of the Indonesian musicians was the best new year gift for the Elektrosal community.
"Earlier this year, we have a resolution: let`s love Indonesia," said Klimanova.
The other Indonesian art performance in the event were "Manuk Rawa" dance from Bali, and "Jaipong" dance from West Java.
