An Indonesian delegate, Atte Sugandi, said Indonesia represented Asia in PUIC`s three committees.
PUIC, which is holding the conference here from January 24 to 31, 2012, has four committees, namely the Politic and International Relations Committee, the Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee, the Human Rights, Women, and Family Affairs Committee, and the Cultural, Law, Civilization and Religious Affairs Committee.
Of the four committees, Indonesia was not included in the Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee, Atte said. Each committee has four members from four different countries.
Members of the Politic and International Relations Committee consist of Sidarto Danusubroto of Indonesia, Kazi Faruq Kader from Bangladesh, Kazem Jalali from Iran and Mustafa Erdem of Turkey.
The Human Rights, Women, and Family Affairs Committee`s members comprise Nurhayati Ali Assegaf from Indonesia, Farida Rahman from n Bangladesh, Nancy Shukri from Malaysia, and Shamshad Sattar Bachani of Pakistan.
Members of the Cultural, Law, Civilization and Religious Affairs Committee are Tantowi Yahya from Indonesia, Seyed Ahmad Avaei from Iran, Hasbi Habibollah from Malaysia and Ihsan Ozkes from Turkey.
The Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee`s members are Khanhuseyn Kazmili from Azerbaijan, Mujahid Yusof Rawa from Malaysia, Sheikh Rohale Asghar from Pakistan, and Cem Zorlu from Turkey.
The conference is being participated in by 37 countries, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyz, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania and Morocco.
In addition, Mozambique, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates. (*)
