Amman (ANTARA News/Xinhua-0ANA) - Scores of demonstrators took to the streets in Jordan on Friday, urging the Jordanian government to withdraw its ambassador from Damascus.

In several rallies across Jordan, the demonstrators, including Syrian and Jordanian nationals, also called for the expulsion of the Syrian ambassador from Amman.

The participants also voiced support for the Syrians and paid tribute to those who were killed in the 11-month-old unrest in Syria.

Meanwhile, on Friday, hundreds demonstrated near the Syrian embassy in Amman, voicing support for the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and calling for thwarting what they labeled as a conspiracy against Syria.
