Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said he was now revamping the managements of strategic state-owned companies to lift them up from their stagnant conditions.

"Changes are being made to the management lineups because they do not constitute the `dream teams` they ought to be. The revamping aims to appoint people who can bring about improvements in the companies` performance," he said at his office here Thursday.

One strategic company where the manegement revamping had been completed was ship-building company PT PAL Indonesia based in Surabaya.

PT PAL`s entire management had been overhauled. Its president director, Harsusanto Soenarwan, was replaced by Muhammad Firmansyah Arifin, former president director of PT Dok Perkapalan Surabaya (PT DPS).

Firmansyah was appointed because his performance in leading PT DPS was "quite good", Dahlan said.

"PT PAL must focus on meeting orders for military ships from the defense ministry. It should not yet build commercial ships," he said.

Dahlan further said a management revamp would soon be carried out at aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI).

"The PTDI president director (Budi Santoso) will be retained but the other directors must go. PT DI also does not have a dream team management," he said.

Next on the list of strategic companies whose board of directots would be changed was arms and ammunition maker PT Pindad based in Bandung."We will shake up Pindad`s management wihin the next one or two weeks," Dahlan said. (*)
