The man, identified by his initials as DS, had told police he had slashed Sistoyo`s forehead with a knife to give corruptors in general a shock therapy, Bandung city police spokesperson, Commisssioner Endang Sri Wahyu Utami, said here Wednesday.
The incident happened on Wednesday at the Bandung Corruption Court where Cibinong public prosecutor Sistoyo was being tried for taking a bribe from a businessman.
DS had told investigators he felt hurt and angry about the behavior of corruptors in the country whom he called traitors of the people`s trust.
He had decided to hurt Sistoyo at his own initiative without being influenced by anybody else, Endang said.
DS, a resident of Kiaracondong in south Bandung was once an activist of a non-governmental organization monitoring state apparatuses` conduct.
The police had not yet named DS a suspect as he was srill undergoing questioning, Endang said.
After the knife attack, Sustoyo was bleeding profusely from a slash wound on his forehead and had to be taken to hospital for medical help.
