Tasikmalaya, W Java (ANTARA News) - Social Affairs Minister Salim Segaf Al Jufri expressed deep concern over drug trafficking in various forms which had reached primary school students in the country.

"What has led us to a very deep concern is that drug trafficking is already affecting primary school students in addition to those of senior high school students (SMA)," the minister said when visiting the Suralaya Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) here on Thursday.

The social affairs minister`s visit to the Pesantren was aimed at handing over financial aid to the Inabah drug-addict youth rehabilitation center.

Minister Salim Segaf Al Jufri also urged parents to tightly control their children and prevent them from committing the drug abuse.

The social affairs ministry has two drug-addict rehabilitation centers namely in Medan, North Sumatra and Bogor, West Java, the minister said, adding the ministry is also holding cooperation with 100 agencies tackling the drug abuse problem.

Meanwhile, the Suralaya Islamic boarding school leader KH Zaenal Abidin Anwar said his agency has been handling the drug-addict cases

by leading the people concerned to the bath-room at 02.00 am for taking bath and followed by doing prayers. (*)
