Islamabad (ANTARA News/Xinhua-0ANA) - At least seven people were killed in another U.S. drone strike launched on Tuesday afternoon in Pakistan`s northwest tribal area of South Waziristan, according to local media reports.

Local Urdu TV channels Samaa and DAWN both reported that the second strike took place in the Sara Khora village of South Waziristan, in which two missiles were fired at a vehicle suspected of carrying militants, killing seven people and injuring several others.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, at about 1:00 a.m. local time, local media reported that the U.S. drones fired two missiles at a vehicle in the Uthghalai village of North Waziristan, killing eight people and wounding two others.

As the Uthghalai village is located somewhere between North Waziristan and South Waziristan, some local media mistakenly reported that the first strike took place in South Waziristan.

Identities of the killed people in both strikes are not immediately available.

Tuesday`s U.S. drone strike is the ninth of its kind (counted on daily basis) in Pakistan in 2012. To date, at least 76 people have reportedly been killed and 16 others injured in such strikes since the beginning of this year. (*)
