Ramadhan Pohan said the police must not wait for the people to report it and must immediately act against it, adding that such an action was intolerable and must not be ignored.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ruling Democrat Party`s Deputy Secretary General, Ramadhan Pohan, condemned student demonstrators that had vandalized state symbols and called on the police to act against them.
"Their action is unacceptable," he said in his press statement here on Wednesday.
He said the police must not wait for the people to report it and must immediately act against it, adding that such an action was intolerable and must not be ignored.
"Do not ignore and undermine it," he said.
Pohan who is also the chairman of the Democrat Party Faction in the House of Representatives said anarchism must be condemned.
He said politicians from opposition parties also must not tolerate it. "If the opposition takes a wrong stand it is not impossible they would use it to justify their action to spread a bad precedent. So, the opposition parties must also condemn it," he said.
Ramadhan said the police had to find the mastermind of the anarchism. "They must arrest the person whoever he is," he said.
He said anarchism is not the characteristics of students. "Anarchism is engineered for provocation. I suspect someone has ordered them to do it," he said.
"So, the executors as well as the mastermind must be judicially processed," he said.
