Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is making preparations for the launch on April 26, 2012 of the North Sulawesi provincial capital Manado as a corruption-free zone.

"We come to Manado to make preparations for the launch of Manado as a corruption-free zone or an integrity zone," Guntur Kusmeiyano, the commission`s official in charge of educational and public services, said here on Tuesday.

He said representatives of all state agencies, civil servants, law enforcers and newsmen of print and electronic media will attend the launch of Manado as a corruption-free zone.

Inspector of Manado city Arnold Kewas said Manado mayor Vicky Lumentut will attend the event and speak of the efforts to prevent corruption by improving the accountability of public service in the city.

"During the event the KPK leader will symbolically hand a signboard of anti-corruption law to the Manado mayor and launch the formation of integrity zone," he said. (*)
