"Police Reserves (Samapta) and Search and Rescue (SAR) teams have also been deployed to help people," Jakarta Police (Polda Metro Jaya) spokesperson Senior Commissioner Rikwanto told the press.
Also, the police and local government are coordinating to prepare for the flood, such as providing alternative travel routes.
Further, Jakarta Traffic Police Deputy Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Wahyono said there are about 100 flood-prone spots in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Karawang (Jabodetabeka).
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts additional rain in the capital over the next three days.
Thousands of families across Jakarta have already been affected by floods caused by heavy rains on the night of April 2 in Jakarta and Bogor. The rains and subsequent flooding have also triggered severe traffic congestion across the city.
