"Until this morning we have not received the reports following the magnitude-6 earthquake in Ujung Kulon."
Serang, Banten (ANTARA News) - The Banten Regional Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD) said there were no immediate reports of damages nor casualties in the magnitude-6 earthquake that hit Ujung Kulon, Pandeglang District, Banten Province, early Sunday.

"Until this morning we have not received the reports following the magnitude-6 earthquake in Ujung Kulon," Chairman of the BPBD Banten Suyadi Wiraatmadja said here Monday.

Suyadi said his office is still monitoring the condition in the quake-hit subdistricts in Pandeglang District.

Head of the Serang meteorological, climatology and geophysics agency (BMKG) Suparmin said the quake`s epicenter was located at 7.17 degrees Southern Latitude and 105.13 degrees Eastern Longitude, around 95 km Southwest of Pandeglang, and at a depth of 10 km below sea level.

The temblor struck at 2:26 am local time and could be felt quite strongly in Jakarta and Sukabumi (West Java). It, however, did not have potential to trigger a tsunami, he said.
