"The president has planned to deliver his speech on fuel oil efficiency and control at the beginning of May."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will address the nation on subsidized fuel oil efficiency and control in early May, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said here on Wednesday.
"The president has planned to deliver his speech on fuel oil efficiency and control at the beginning of May," Wacik said at the Presidential Palace complex. But, the energy minister did not reveal details of the substance of the President's speech.
The government is still discussing the plan to control the subsidized fuel oil and has yet to decide technical matters related to it. The main purpose of the policy to control the subsidized fuel oil is to see that its quota does not swell further, as it has already hit 40 million kilo liter per year.
Wacik also added that the subsidized fuel oil should be controlled so that it could also be used by the poor, and not just the rich.
