"The growth of profits in 2012 will be driven by the improving national economy."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An official in the ministry of state enterprises expects profits from all state enterprises to increase to about Rp145.564 trillion this year, or 17.45 percent from the 2010 profit of Rp123.945 trillion.

"The growth of profits in 2012 will be driven by the improving national economy and efficiency program in state enterprises (BUMNs), based upon their capacity in providing capital and operational expenditures," the ministry`s secretary, Wahyu Hidayat, said at a press conference on Exposure of BUMNs Performance in 2011 at the ministry building here on Friday.

He noted that BUMNs` total revenues in 2012 are expected to reach Rp1,495.69 trillion, up from Rp1,387.67 trillion.

Almost all BUMNs in 2012 will be able to increase their revenues, he added. "The largest BUMNs revenue is contributed by growth in the energy, plantation, financial and infrastructure sectors," he noted.

He said state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina and power company PT PLN would still contribute the largest part of the revenues, reaching Rp741.315 trillion, compared to Rp798.692 in 2011.

The two companies` net profits are projected to reach Rp36 trillion, an increase of some 27.27 percent from around Rp28.29 trillion in 2011.

In terms of assets, he said all BUMNs are projected to record an increase of up to Rp3,422.42 trillion from the previous Rp2,962.69 trillion.

Their total equity, meanwhile, will jump to Rp853.28 trillion from Rp717.24 trillion.

He said the ministry also expects capital expenditures of 141 BUMNs in 2012 to reach around Rp217.38 trillion, increasing from Rp142.33 trillion in 2011.

All BUMNs, at the same time, plan to allocate Rp1,216.45 trillion for operational expenditures, down from Rp1,226.55 trillion.

Their dividend payments in 2012, meanwhile, were set at Rp30.776 trillion, up from Rp28.171 trillion in 2011.
