"He left on Friday at 4 am, and promised to return on Sunday because I also wanted to go out."Jakarta, April 22 (ANTARA) - Ninasapti Triaswati, bereaved wife of Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Widjajono Partowidagdo said she did not have any bad feelings when her husband left for climbing Mt Tambora in West Nusa Tenggara.
"He left on Friday at 4 am, and promised to return on Sunday because I also wanted to go out," she said.
During his life Widjajono had climbed more than 40 mountains in Indonesia and abroad. She said she cannot forbid her husband`s wishes.
Nina said she fully understood her husband`s hobby.
"During his life he did not have any history of illness, because he has always maintained his health," she added.
He was scheduled for burial at the family cemetery in Bandung on Sunday afternoon.
Widjajono Partowidagdo was deputy minister of energy and mineral resources for about six months, and was survived by a wife and a daughter, Kristal Amalia (15).
Widjajono is known as a low profile government official and rather unique because of his long hair, and was always kind to journalists.
Widjajono Partowidagdo was born in Magelang on Sept 16, 1951, and was professor in economy and oil/gas field management at the Mining and Oil Technology Faculty of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
