"All the internal organs are still intact inside their bodies; there is no proof of organ removal."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The latest autopsy conducted by the Indonesian police`s forensic team revealed that no vital organ was removed from the bodies of the three Indonesian workers who were shot dead by the local police in Malaysia recently.

"According to the autopsy conducted in Indonesia, the three workers` cause of death was being shot in the head and left chest. All the internal organs are still intact inside their bodies; there is no proof of organ removal," said Chairman of the Medical Forensic Department of the Indonesian police Brigadier General Dr Musaddeq Ishaq at a press conference held here on Friday.

Musaddeq explained that the stitches found on some body parts of the three workers were only sutures from the first autopsy conducted by the Malaysian police.

Herman (34), Abdul Kadir Jaelani (25) and Mad Noor (28) were shot dead by Malaysian police in Negeri Sembilan on March 22 on suspicion that the three were planning to commit a robbery. The bodies of the three victims arrived at their home village in West Nusa Tenggara province on April 5.

A second autopsy was performed in Indonesia to confirm the cause of death of the three migrant workers, following allegations of organ removal. The victims` family members suspected that some of the victims` organs had been removed for the purpose of organ trading, as they found stitches on the eyes, chests and stomachs of the victims` bodies.

This suspicion was based on information provided by Herman, Jaelani`s brother, who had seen the condition of the victims` bodies before they were shrouded and flown into the country.

The autopsy was performed by a team comprising members from the West Nusa Tenggara police command, Lombok Timur police, Bhayangkara police hospital in West Nusa Tenggara and the West Nusa Tenggara general hospital.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa remarked that although the suspicion of organ removal has been disproved, the Indonesian government will still request the Malaysian government to investigate the shooting incident that claimed the lives of three Indonesian workers.
