Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained Angelina Sondakh at the KPK detention centre in Salemba on Friday.

Angelina, who is popularly called Angie, was held for alleged bribery in connection with projects of the Youth and Sports Ministry and Education and Culture Ministry last year.

She was taken to the detention cell, along with her lawyer Nasrullah and younger brother-in-law Mudjie Masaid.

KPK Spokesman Johan Budi SP said Angie was detained for a period of 20 days. "The KPK detention in Salemba is equipped with a CCTV for fast monitoring," he said.

He said that the detention of Angie was for investigation in light of pieces of evidence.

Angie is a legislator and former deputy secretary general of the ruling Democratic Party (PD).
