"Although demonstrations did occur in various regions in general they were still within the appropriate corridor," Mannpower Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government was relieved demonstrations to mark the International Labor Day on Tuesday had been peaceful.

"On behalf of the government we expressed our appreciation and praiseD that May Day demonstrations this year had been peaceful, orderly and safe. We hope this would become a positive momentum for strengthening cooperation among all parties in developing a more conducive manpower atmosphere," Mannpower Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said.

Based on reports from monitoring teams of the manpower ministry and district, city and provincial manpower service across the country the minister said in general the May Day commemoration activities in central and regional levels had gone well.
