President Yudhoyono noted that, before the legislative and presidential elections in 2014, the ministers would certainly be given responsibilities by their respective parties.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has asked his ministers to work efficiently and effectively until 2014, when the next general elections are due.
"The best time for us to improve our performance and meet our targets is 2012 and next year. Some of us would be busy carrying out their parties` tasks for the general elections, but they must always prioritize the tasks of the government and the state," he said at the opening of a plenary cabinet meeting here on Thursday.
President Yudhoyono noted that, before the legislative and presidential elections in 2014, the ministers would certainly be given responsibilities by their respective parties.
"Although I have always reminded them that the tasks of the government and the state must be prioritized, they would always spare time for their political duties," he added.
As a president who would end his term of office in 2014, Yudhoyono said he would strive to maintain the cabinet`s unity and assured that the members would work as diligently as possible to implement the government's programs despite having their party duties.
"As a president who will soon end his term of office, I would continue maintaining the cabinet`s unity, so that many things could be achieved and accelerated before the end of the term," he said.
President Yudhoyono discussed the government's work plan for 2013 at the meeting.(*)
