"Two International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members died following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan today," the NATO-led ISAF said in a press release issued here Saturday evening.
Another soldier with the alliance was killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack earlier in the day and the forth victim lost his life as a result of the non-battle related injury Saturday morning also in southern Afghanistan, according to the ISAF press releases.
The brief releases did not mention the nationalities of the victims under ISAF policy.
Troops mainly from the United States, Britain and Australia have been stationed in the southern region within the framework of ISAF to curb Taliban-linked insurgency there.
The Taliban insurgent group, who has been waging a decade-long insurgency, announced on May 2 that they would launched a spring rebel offensive from May 3 across the country, saying their targets are U.S., NATO and Afghan troops as well as legislators and government functionaries.
Over 150 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
