"It will continue to rise and reach a peak of 20,775 MW on November."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned electricity company PLN expects the peak load on its Java-Bali electricity system to reach 20,775 megawatts on November 29, 2012, according to its operational director, I Gusti Ngurah Adyana.

"So far, the highest load of electricity occurred on the night of April 24, 2012, reaching 20,343 MW," he said on Monday.

"It will continue to rise and reach a peak of 20,775 MW on November 29, 2012," I Gusti Ngurah added.

He stated the average capacity of PLN`s Java-Bali power network was about 26,215 MW, so it was expected that the need for power would still be met during the peak period.

In 2012, four units of thermal power plants (PLTU) with a combined capacity of 1,500 MW are scheduled to operate.

The four PLTUs are PLTU Paiton 9 (which has a capacity of 600 MW and will be operational from May), Pacitan I (300 MW, starting June), Pacitan 2 (300 MW, September), and Pelabuhan Ratu (300 MW, November).
