"Today, we flew the remains of the victims," the commander of Atang Sanjaya air force base, Air Commodore Tabri Santoso, said here on Tuesday.
The bodies were carried from Halim Perdanakusuma airport by ambulances to R Said Sukanto Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for identification.
Tabri said the weather was likely to remain calm enough to allow speedy evacuation of more crash victims.
"Two body bags were evacuated from the crash site on Monday night and we flew those to the helipad in Cijeruk," he added.
According to Tabri, the joint search and rescue team is still looking for the black box. He noted the black box could not be far from the emergency locator transmitter (ELT) which was found by the team on Monday.
"We hope, we can find the black box soon," Tabri added.
