"The person that has shown off must be given a lesson."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A lawmaker from the House of Representatives (DPR)`s Defense Commission has asked for an immediate confiscation of a luxurious car found using a military (TNI) plate number at a parking lot at Soekarno-Hatta airport.
"Confiscate the car, immediately and never to release it as it has really damaged the reputation of TNI," Fayakhun Andriadi, a lawmaker from the Jakarta electoral region, to ANTARA News here on Friday in response to reports about the car.
The car, a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, worth up to Rp3.85 billion was found parked at the Soekarno-Hatta airport`s parking lot. It was not yet known if the plate number was fake or not.
The TNI Headquarters through its spokesman, Rear Admiral Iskandar Sitompul, has pledged to investigate the case.
Fayakhun said he was really angry about the TNI member that had arrogantly shown off luxury while many people still struggled to make ends meet.
"On behalf of my constituents I express my anger towards the show-off that has really damaged the TNI image," he said.
As a member of the House Commission I he said he respected and was very proud of TNI.
"The person that has shown off must be given a lesson. Confiscate the car for the state. He must take the responsibility," he said.
