...although old cars, but still official cars, they still have to use pertamax.
Pamekasan, East Java (ANTARA News) - All official cars of Pamekasan regency administration, Madura, will have to use non-subsidized fuel or pertamax, starting in August 2012.

Head of economic affairs division of Pamekasan regency administration Yudistinah said Wednesday the use of pertamax for all official cars here is in line with the central government`s policy in subsidized fuel restriction program.

"In the meantime restriction of subsidized fuel for official cars is imposed in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (jabodetabek), and in other areas starting in August 2012," Yudistinah said.

She said she is now preparing the familiarization of all regional working units in Pamekasan regency administration of the plan through print and electronic media, and limited meetings.

"We have also coordinated with the leadership of the relevant government institutions in Pamekasan," she added.

She said that actually the use of pertamax for official cars would increase the operational budget of the regency administration.

"Even if there is an increase in budget, the only thing that we could do is reducing fuel consumption," she said.

She also made clear that the use of non-subsidized premium for all official cars without regard to the year of their manufacture and the size their engines.

"So, although old cars, but still official cars, they still have to use pertamax," she added.

Not only cars of the regency administrations have to use pertamax, but also police and military cars.

She also said that 7 of the 11 filling stations in the area are selling pertamax.
