The head of state previously said that he would push an agenda action on sustainable economic and economic justice in the summit being participated in by representatives of around 192 countries including 100 heads of government.
The agenda is important to protect the Earth and reduce poverty in a number of countries. Action is so far lacking despite the fact that the environmental problems and the solutions have been known, he said.
"We must avoid the danger of being trapped in waiting game. The consensus at the global level takes time. But we must act now," he said.
A political will is needed to implement the agenda of sustainable economic development and economic justice.
"The political commitment is crucial. It`s not always easy to promote environmentally friendly policies. But, it is necessary and the right thing to do. So we must push it harder despite some objections," he said.
President Yudhoyono is scheduled to deliver his speech in the Rio+20 conference on Thursday local time.
The Conference will focus on two themes, namely a green economy in the context of sustainable development poverty eradication; and the institutional framework for sustainable development.
The preparations for Rio+20 have highlighted seven areas which need priority attention; these include decent jobs, energy, sustainable cities, food security and sustainable agriculture, water, oceans and disaster readiness. (*)
