Bakauheni, Lampung (ANTARA News) - Again, the Bakauheni Port police in South Lampung arrested three foreigners, suspected to be illegal immigrants, while they were trying to cross over to the Merak sea port in Banten on Tuesday at around 10:00 pm, an official said.

The head of the Bakauheni sea port police, Adjunct Police Commissioner Heru Andrian, said on Wednesday, that the three foreigners were arrested while traveling on an inter-province bus going from Medan to Jakarta, and were found without any official identification.

"The three foreigners include two Pakistanis and one Myanmarese citizen, identified as Abdul Ali, M Imran and Syah Alam, respectively," Andrian said.

Earlier, the Bakauheni port police had arrested six Iraqi illegal immigrants during a routine check of the seaport on Monday. These six illegal immigrants had allegedly entered Indonesia via Malaysia using a wooden boat that landed in Medan in North Sumatra.

They include three adult males and three children, and were planning to go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative office in Jakarta.

They have been identified as Hamud Mariam Al Homaj (38), Ala Abdul Maliek (38), Amar JasmineNaser (24), Zahra (15), Muhammad Husein (7) and Aya Ala Abdul Maliek (2).

"We have handed them over to officials at the International of Migration (IOM) office in Bandarlampung," Andrian added.
