"If that is not done, the shortage of teachers will continue to rise."
Pandeglang (ANTARA News) - Pandeglang, a district town in Banten province, is facing a shortage of about 3,847 elementary school teachers, according to Pandeglang Education Service head Abdul Azis.

"It has been found that the district needs an additional 3,847 primary school teachers," he stated here on Wednesday.

Azis said almost all sub-districts in Padeglang were short of teachers, adding that "the government is expected to soon fill the gap through civil service recruitment".

"If that is not done, the shortage of teachers will continue to rise. During the 2011-14 period, about 750 elementary school teachers will retire," he pointed out.

Azis noted that there were currently 880 elementary schools, 134 junior high schools and 28 senior high schools in Pandeglang.
