Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) failed to question four police officers because the names of the officers summoned were written wrongly.

In connection with the questioning of the officers scheduled Wednesday, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said here on Thursday that one of them had been promoted and so "we have written a wrong designation. Names have also been written wrongly and so we must repeat the summons."

The officers were scheduled to be questioned with regard to an alleged corruption case relating to driving simulator procurement in the traffic police force.

Johan said "we will summon them again. We have sent the summons today. We do not know whether the questioning will be next Monday or Tuesday."

He said the four officers were scheduled to be questioned as witnesses.

The anti-graft agency has named former chief of the national traffic police corps, Inspector General Djoko Susilo, as a suspect in the case.

Other suspects named are Brigadier General Didik Purnomo, the president director of PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia, Sukotjo S Bambang and director of PT Citra Mandiri Metalindo Abadi, Budi Santoso.

National police General Timur Pradopo has pledged the police would cooperate with the KPK in the investigation of the case and had also assured that investigation would be carried out within the existing corridor.

The KPK and the police have been involved in an argument over the case`s investigation.(*)
