"In the special event President Yudhoyono would give a Presidential Address on Indonesia`s rise as Asia`s new economic powerhouse," Teuku Faizasyah said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will speak on Indonesia`s economic prospects at the New York Stock Exchange during his visit to the US to attend a UN General Assembly next week, special aide said.
Teuku Faizasyah, the presidential special aide for international affairs, said in a press statement received here on Friday the head of state is scheduled to attend an Indonesia Investment Day at one of the world`s financial center on Monday.
"In the special event President Yudhoyono would give a Presidential Address on Indonesia`s rise as Asia`s new economic powerhouse," he said.
He said President Yudhoyono would also present the government`s steps to maintain the sustainability of the country`s economic growth.
Besides attending the IDD President Yudhoyono would also receive US business leaders to discuss trade and investment including chief executive officers of IBM, Honeywell, Cargill and Millenium Challenge Corporation.
President Yudhoyono would also be given a "Valuing Nature Award for Leadership in the Coral Triangle Initiative" from the Nature Conservancy, WRI & WWF and "the USABC 21st Century Economic Achievement" award from the US-ASEAN Business Council.
The two awards are given as a form of appreciation to various progresses made in the economic field in Indonesia under the leadership of President Yudhoyono and to Indonesia`s commitment to environment preservation.
The awards would be presented at a function themed "Indonesia: Towards Environmental and Economic Sustainability."
President Yudhoyono is scheduled to attend a UN General Assembly and a panel of eminent persons to discuss post-MDGS programs at the UN Headquarters.
He is scheduled to leave the country on Saturday and return on September 30. (*)
