"The release of the improved US manufacturing data gave positive sentiments to Asian market including BEI," Sinarmas Sekuritas` analyst James Wahjudi said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) opened trade this morning with share prices up on improved US manufacturing data, analysts said.

The BEI index rose 9.24 points or 0.22 percent to 4,245.53 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks gaining 0.32 percent to 728.35 points.

"The release of the improved US manufacturing data gave positive sentiments to Asian market including BEI," Sinarmas Sekuritas` analyst James Wahjudi said.

Technically, the BEI index is expected to fluctuate around 4,215-4,270 points in today`s trade, James said here on Tuesday.

Samuel Sekuritas`s analyst Sally Agustina said improved US manufacturing data shored up the US and Asian markets.

The strengthening also was attributable to smaller capital deficit recorded by Spanish lower than the bailout of 100 billion euro approved by the Spanish government.

Regional markets gaining included Hang Seng with index up 0.38 percent to 20,840.38, Nikkei-225 up 0.35 percent to 8,809.02, and Straits Times rising 0.30 percent to 3,066.95 points. (*)
