Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta governor-elect Joko Widodo denied here on Friday that he would totally reshuffle the city administration.

That was not true, he said at a meeting with capital city leadership at the City Hall.

Joko Widodo came to the City Hall along with his running mate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama to meet the invitation of outgoing governor Fauzi Bowo who Jokowi beat in a recent runoff election.

Jokowi as the governor-elect is popularly called appealed to all employees not to believe in the rumor.

"If your performance is already good why should I conduct a reshuffle. Do not believe in provocateurs to cause your performance to drop and disrupt your public service," he said.

He said he still had yet to see how employees work. "Only after I know you will I know what to do. In an organization the right persons must be put in the right places," he added.

During the meeting Jokowi thanked governor Fauzi Bowo for the opportunity he gave to him to pass through the transitional period and to know the city leadership.

"This introduction will speed up the working process. Entering a new place one usually will conduct observation first before moving ahead. I thank governor Fauzi Bowo very much for the opportunity for him to get acquainted with the city administration staff," he said.

Governor Fauzi Bowo on the occasion introduced city mayors, sub-district heads, heads of city services, agencies, city-owned companies and others.

At the end of the meeting he presented a book containing rules and city administration organization to Jokowi saying "Hopefully this book could be used as a means by the governor-elect to start his duty at the Jakarta city administration."(*)
