Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Garuda Indonesia has announced that until the third quarter of this year it has posted a consolidated operating revenue amounting to US$2.39 billion.

The revenue increased by 14.4 percent if compared with that in the corresponding period a year earlier which stood at US$2.08 billion, Communications Affairs Officer of Garuda Pujobroto said here on Thursday.

With the achievement, the company`s income from operations was recorded at 92.75 million dollars which represented a significant increase by 140.4 percent from last year`s 38.60 million dollars.

The comprehensive income also rose from 29.2 million dollars to 60.8 million in the third quarter of this year or an increase of 108.2 percent, he said.

Pujobroto said that Garuda`s success to book the income and profit was supported by the positive contribution from operations aspects such as increase in the number of passengers and the volumes of cargoes.

Up to the third quarter of this year, Garuda transported over 14.89 million passengers, up 20.2 percent from 12.38 million in the same period last year.

The volumes of its cargo increased 18.7 percent to 201,070 tons from the same period last year which stood at 169,334 tons.

The seat availability also rose 11.7 percent to 26.88 billion in the same period a year earlier which was 24.05 billion wile its flight frequency also hiked 17.2 percent to 111,151 flights from 94,899 flights in the previous year.

Its seat load factor was also up 75.86 percent from 75.16 percent last year so that yields from passengers also rose to US$C9.55 from the previous US$C9.49 per passenger.(*)
