"Let us maintain a spirit of togetherness," Kalla appealed to the local residents.Waypanji, S Lampung, Lampung Province (ANTARA) - Jusuf Kalla, chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), visited the riot-hit Balinuraga village in the Lampung Province to provide aid and assistance to villagers whose houses were damaged due to the violence.
"We will provide 10,000 pieces of zinc for the damaged houses," Kalla said here on Friday.
He urged all parties to help the riot victims by repairing their houses and securing the location.
"Let us maintain a spirit of togetherness," Kalla appealed to the local residents.
He also hoped that the police would be able to apprehend the people behind the violence and secure the area.
Meanwhile, Resort Police Chief of South Lampung, Adjunct Commissioner Police (AKBP) Tatar Nugroho said that a total of 345 houses were damaged and burned during the riots in the area.
"Sidoreno village was also affected due to the violence, although the conflict was between Agom village and Balinuraga village," he said.
He added that residents` properties were also damaged due to the violence.(*)
