Vientiane (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held bilateral talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg in the Laotian capital of Vientiane on Monday morning.

The two leaders met in the VVIP II room at the Dhon Chan Palace Hotel at 9.40 am before attending the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

President Yudhoyono was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan and Industry Minister MS Hidayat at the meeting.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, the Indonesian head of state also held bilateral talks with his Laotian counterpart Choummaly Sayasone at the Ho Kham Palace.

President Yudhoyono arrived in Laos on Sunday morning from Britain where he finished a state visit at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

In the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, the head of state and his entourage left Indonesia for London last Tuesday for a three-day state visit.

During the visit President Yudhoyono held a series of meetings with Queen Elizabeth II, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Prince Charles, Liberal Democrat Party Chairman Nick Clegg and opposition leader Ed Miliband.

Presidential staff for foreign affairs Faizasyah had earlier said that the visit to Britain by President Yudhoyono was expected to strengthen cooperation between the two countries at both, the bilateral level and in the context of a joint effort to address various global issues.
