Joyo submitted the resignation on Wednesday citing his love to the police force and no pressure from the police force, KPK`s head of information and media Priharsa Nugraha confirmed.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police chief inspector Joyo Mulyo has resigned as the adjutant of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Abraham Samad, KPK`s head of information and media Priharsa Nugraha confirmed.

"Yes, he (Joyo Mulyo) has submitted his resignation," he said here on Thursday.

He said Joyo submitted the resignation on Wednesday citing his love to the police force and no pressure from the police force.

Priharsa added that Joyo`s tenure had indeed expired this year and he wished to develop his career further in the police force.

"I have asked for confirmation about it to the chief (KPK chief) and he said he has accepted the resignation. With regard to his security the chief said he submits it to God," he said.

Priharsa explained security of KPK officials as state officials are regulated by Government Regulation Number 29 which was renewed by Government Regulation Number 36 of 2009.

So, "we will coordinate with other offices concerned with regard to it," he said.

On November 1 six police investigators in KPK resigned while the tenure of 20 others was not extended in October to make the number of police investigators in KPK to drop to only 62 now.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi said the decline in the number of investigators could affect the speed of KPK`s investigation of corruption cases.

KPK meanwhile is now still continuing investigation into alleged corruption in the police traffic corps involving several police generals. (*)
