Yudhoyono met Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Friday morning and was also scheduled to meet Iranian Prime Minister Mahmoud Ahmad Dinejad, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Turkish Prime Minister Reccep Tayip Erdogan later.
"Tomorrow (Friday, Nov 9), I will hold bilateral talks," President Yudhoyono after attending the first-day meeting of the Fifth Bali Democracy Forum here on Thursday.
On Friday morning, the Indonesian head of state held a bilateral meeting with Gillard, and then they held a trilateral meeting with Timor Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao.
Speaking to the press here on Thursday, Gillard said the meeting of the leaders of the three countries was expected to pave the way for future cooperation and development.
"A trilateral meeting among the leaders of Australia, Indonesia, and Timor Leste will be the first of its kind," Gillard noted.
She expressed optimism that the meeting would lead to increased cooperation among the three countries in various fields.
The Australian prime minister was one of the 11 heads of state attending the event, held on November 8-9.
Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono are scheduled to return to Jakarta on Friday afternoon.(*)
