"Various international credit ratings show that Indonesia`s competitiveness."London (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) chairman Muhamad Chatib Basri has held a series of bilateral meetings with Germany`s deputy economy minister Peter Hintze and Federation of German Industries senior vice president Stefan Mair.
"The meetings discussed the implementation of some cooperation agreement subsections within the Indonesia-Germany Comprehensive Partnership Declaration," a spokesman of the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, Purno Widodo, told ANTARA News in London on Monday.
He said the meetings focused on the trade and investment sector as well as technology and renewable energy.
"Chatib also explained Indonesia`s current political and economic condition, pointing out that the country has a conducive business climate. Various international credit ratings show that Indonesia`s competitiveness as an investment destination has increased," Purno added.
During his stay in Germany, Basri also visited the Volkswagen (VW) factory in Wolfsburg, situated 230 kilometres west of Berlin.
He held a meeting with the CEO of VW company.
Chatib also met with the CEO of German chemical company Henkel, which has branches in Indonesia, to convince the company to expand its business in the country.
Meanwhile, Henkel CEO stated that the company had diversified its business into the beauty care sector.
The Henkel leadership expressed optimism that the company's beauty products would receive a positive response from Indonesian consumers.
