Rafah, Egypt (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian delegation that arrived in Arish, Egypt, on Wednesday, is expected to enter Gaza on Thursday, according to Muhammad Sahrul, a diplomat from the Indonesian embassy in Cairo.

"The Gaza authorities have arranged the necessary transportation and accommodation for the Indonesian delegation members ahead of their stay in Gaza, Palestine," he said in Arish on Wednesday evening.

Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Nurfaizi Suwandi accompanied the delegation headed by Mahfudz Siddiq, the chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I, to Arish.

The Hamas Parliament has kept a bus and accommodations for 20 people ready for the DPR members.

"It demonstrates how happy Hamas leaders are to welcome the Indonesian parliamentarian delegation," said Muhammad Najib, a member of the delegation, who is also the chairman of the Indonesian Parliamentary Middle East Caucus.

The delegation consists of 39 people, including eight MPs, parliamentary staff, journalists, and 15 NGO activists.

The NGO activists will present assistance in the form of food and medicines to Palestinians in Gaza.(*)
