Jokowi will campaign in border areas between Jakarta and West Java in Bekasi, Bogor, Karawang and Purwakarta, chairman of the West Java branch of PDI-P party Tb Hasanuddin said.
Jokowi and Rieke, a lawmaker, belong to the same party, which is headed by former President Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Jokowi will visit the border areas several times to campaign for Rieke who has anti corruption leader Teten Masduki as a running mate, Hasanuddin said here on Friday.
While doing the campaigning, Jokowi will discuss problems shared by the two provinces such as related to flooding and public transport, he said.
"Jokowi will explain the problems faced by people in the border areas between Jakarta and West Java," he said.
He said Megawati Soekarnoputri will also take part in the campaign for Rieke in certain areas in West Java.
"Surveys have yet to be made to ascertain the places to see the political tendency of the areas," he added.
Former ministers from the party who are well known in West Java are also expected to help in the campaign.
"A number of former ministers having good performance in the sectors of environment, agriculture and forestry will be invited," he said.(*)
