Lampung seaport police confiscate 10 kgs of marijuana from passenger

Kalianda, Lampung (ANTARA News) - Lampung`s Bakauheni seaport police have confiscated a package containing 10 kilograms of dried marijuana from an inter-city bus passenger who was planning to cross over from Sumatra island to Java island on Thursday, according to an official.

"We found the marijuana stored in a box of cigarettes in the luggage compartment of the bus. The man who allegedly owns the package has been detained," Bakauheni seaport police chief AKP Harto Agung Cahyono said here on Friday.

"The confiscated marijuana is worth Rp30 million. We are now conducting further investigations to trace the origin of the package and the person who ordered it," he added.

Harto stated that security at Lampung seaport would be tightened soon.
