Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - Ruling Democrat Party chief patron President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that he would lead the rearrangement and disciplinary affairs in an effort solve the party`s internal problem.

Yudhoyono made the statement in a press conference following the party`s Supreme Council members meeting in the presidential residence here on Friday night.

In addition Yudhoyono said, he will directly lead the rearrangement and disciplinary matters of the party. We with regard to Anas Urabningrum (the democrat party`s general chairman), Yudhoyono said that he allowed Anas to face the legal matters process.

"I give you an opportunity to face the legal matters, hopefully justice is really enforced, and the party`s team of legal affairs are ready to provide legal assistance," the president disclosed.

Earlier the party advisory board member Syarif Hasan said Yudhoyono had already found options to put the party in order.

Several party figures in the past few days had called on Yudhoyono to step in due to a drop in the party`s popularity following several party cadres` involvement in corruption cases.

Nine members of the party`s supreme council who attended the meeting are Yudhoyono as its chairman, Marzuki Alie, the deputy chairman, Jero Wacik, the secretary of the party`s advisory council, TB Silalahi, the party`s ethics council secretary, Anas Urbaningrum, party`s general chairman, Max Sopacua and Jhonny Alen, party`s deputy general chairmen, party`s secretary general Edhi Baskoro Yudhoyono and party`s executive director Toto Riyanto.
