... It is unfair to assess present Merpati performance right now... "Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned Merpati Nusantara Airlines (Merpati) has won the Contact Center Service Excellence Award 2013 of the Carre Center for Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty (Carre-CCSL) Magazine.
"The award is proof and recognition of Merpati's seriousness and efforts to provide the best services for passengers," Merpati's Commercial Director Sutan Banuara said in a press statement here on Saturday.
He said that Merpati's call center was established only one year ago but it was now able to win an award which was provided through an assessment by an independent party.
The award also indicated that the Merpati's management and all of its employees had worked devotedly to provide the best services for passengers and would-be passengers, Sutan said.
He said that the award would motivate Merpati's management, board of directors and workers to maintain the company's convenient services for its passengers.
Last month, State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan praised Merpati for its improved performance.
"Actually I am stunned that Merpati is still able to serve the public under current conditions," the minister said.
He said he met personally with members of the board of directors and commissioners of the company over the weekend to discuss the company's conditions.
He asked the management of PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines to focus on developing its business and not to be overwhelmed by its debts.
"Merpati must focus on its business plan so that it will not end up like Batavia Air that has gone bankrupt," he said.
He said the company's conditions have actually been improving as the company has now been able to regularly pay its workers, pay the cost of airport use, fuel needs and insurance albeit through an installment scheme despite its debts left by former directors.
"It is unfair to assess present Merpati performance right now because its present debts were made when the company was led by several directors of the previous periods while the present directors have only worked for less than a year," he said.
