"We are still making the best effort when to accomplish the process.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said Indonesia and Timor Leste had settled 90 percent of their borderlines.
"Indonesia and Timor Leste have accomplished demarcation on 90 percent of their borderlines. They still have to accomplish the demarcation of borderlines in three locations," said Marty in an interview with Antara after the opening of the Jakarta International Defense Dialogue (JIDD) 2013 here on Wednesday.
According to him, the minister the two countries still have problem with the installation of border markers in the three locations.
However, he said, both countries have agreed to accept areas sharing the border and were now waiting for the installation of the border markers.
"We are still making the best effort when to accomplish the process. Both countries cannot solve the problem in a relatively short time," said Marty.
He added bilateral relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste continued develop as reflected in current visit of Timor Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao to attend the JIDD 2013.
"President Yudhoyono welcome Prime Minister Xanana on Wednesday at 2 pm to discuss bilateral matters and issues of mutual concern," said Marty.
Marty said Indonesia and Timor Leste`s bilateral relations could serve as role model in the promotion of peace in the region.
"President Yudhoyono has emphasized the importance for the two countries to develop their relations on the mutual trust basis that can create security and peace in the region," said Minister. ***1***
