"RRI needs to be a part in making a success of the MY WORLD survey."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Radio Republic Indonesia (RRI) has launched a MY WORLD global survey on future development priorities done worldwide by the United Nations Information Center, UNIC, here Wednesday.

"As an independent, neutral and non-commercial public broadcasting agency, RRI needs to be a part in making a success of the MY WORLD survey," said RRI President Director Niken Widiastuti, here Wednesday.

According to Niken, the survey is done to provide room for the global community to express their aspirations and rights in the fields of education, health, minority groups, gender equality, environment, infrastructure development, energy and many more.

As an initial step, the state`s radio station through its Pro3 national news network channel will broadcast live the launching of the survey in Indonesia on Wednesday, March 20, at the UNIC Office, Jakarta.

RRI as the program`s media partner would disseminate the survey to Indonesian citizens through its 80 broadcasting stations all over the country.

"With about 80 radio stations across the Indonesian archipelago, RRI`s support in the MY World Survey launch is an important thing, and can become a catalyst for partner participation in Indonesia," said UNIC director Michele Zaccheo in the event.

MY World survey is an option survey which allows people globally to tell the United Nations, and in particular the Secretary General`s High Level Panel, the most important issues they would like to be a priority for the post 2015 Millennium Development Goals.

The survey is available online since December 2012 until 2015 to citizens of all ages, genders and backgrounds by filling the survey form at www.myworld2015.org in six United Nation`s official language.

Besides, the survey is also available for participants to participate in this survey through a network of grass roots organizations, faith communities, youth groups, private sector bodies and NGO partners around the world.

According to the UN`s Resident Coordinator in Indonesia Douglas Broderick the partnership with the government, civilian organizations, companies inside the United Nation`s system would play an important role in ensuring open and inclusive participation in the post-2015 process.

"The Indonesian voice is very important in this discussion because the world is looking for the answer on how to step forward with MDG`s and new challenges post-2015," said Broderick.

The survey is done in 2013 because the Millennium Development Goals have made a huge impact on the lives of billions, but there is still much more to be done to address extreme poverty, diseases and environmental crises.
