"We hereby reject the lawsuit as a whole," Presiding Judge Ahmad Sodiki said when he read the MK`s verdict here on Monday.
Sodiki said that the arguments leveled by the Rieki-Teten pair in the lawsuit were not proven based on the law.
In its consideration, the court found facts that most of the arguments by the petitioners were not completed with enough evidence or had no evidence at all.
"The lawsuit is completed with only a list of evidence," Constitutional Court Judge Akil Mochtar said meanwhile.
He said that if there was a violation it was only sporadic in nature and had no significant impact on the amount of votes each contestant had already gained.
In response to the court verdict, Rieke said she accepted the result of the court session. "We accept the court`s decision," Rieke said after the session.
Rieke also expressed her thanks to the people of West Java who supported her pair-up in bringing the election dispute to the MK.
"We both expressed our great thanks to the political party, sympathizers and volunteers," Rieke said.
She said that her lawsuit case was not a matter of winning or losing but of knowing that what was said to be legal was not always legal based on morality.
"I will return to the House of Representatives as a legislator in charge of manpower, transmigration and health affairs. I will return to work together with the people," she said.
Rieke said she had fought for West Java to stop it from sending workers abroad and from becoming one of the three poorest regions, although it had extraordinary natural resources.
In the meantime, Rieke`s lawyer Arteria Dahlan said the MK was not able to take concerted legal considerations.
"It could not convinced itself with the thousands of pieces of evidence we have provided and we have proved," he said.
"So, we appreciate the legal product of this kind. There are still a lot of regional head elections ahead. Therefore, the MK`s legal breakthroughs must also be able to convince us as the party who are seeking justice," the lawyer said.
