Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed hope that the people could get balanced information on development results so that they would have optimistic views.

"The head of state hoped that the observance ceremony of the Hindu Day of Silence would help provide balanced information for the people," Gede Prajana, chairman of the National Organizing Committee for the Observance of the Hindu Day of Silence, Javanese year 1935, said after meeting with the president at the Presidential Office here on Tuesday.

He said that his side would mark the Hindu Day of Silence with the observance of the country`s seven-centenary cycle glory, where in the seventh century Indonesia was marked with the glory of Srivijaya era, in the 14th century, it was the glory of the Majapahit era and in the 21st century, Indonesia became a member of G-20 with a high economic growth.

Gede said that not many countries could achieve such a high economic growth. This should be communicated to the people so that they would consume not merely pessimistic and conflict news stories.

"There are many positive aspects which are worth and need to be reported to the people," he said.

He said that the theme of this year`s Hindu Day of Silence observation was "Developing Togetherness with Brotherhood."

"With this theme we want to emphasize the importance of building togetherness. Togetherness is the main asset for the establishment of the country from the people`s diversity. We want to inject this understanding to the people because this country should not become compartmentalized," he said.

President Yudhoyono is scheduled to attend the observance ceremony of the Hindu Day of Silence at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday evening.
