Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Vice President Boediono received Axel Van Trotsenburg, the World Bank`s new Vice President for East Asia and Pacific, here on Thursday, to discuss possible cooperation in various development sectors.

"This is my second visit to Indonesia, after the first one in 2002. In my new position, I want to visit every country in the region to get to know them better," Van Trotsenburg said here on Thursday.

The meeting with Vice President Boediono was also attended the World Bank`s Director for Indonesia Stefan Koeberle and three senior economists James Brumby, Ndiame Diop and Jan Weetjens.

The World Bank is interested in supporting Indonesia`s decentralization, capacity building, and the growth of domestic market.

Axel van Trotsenburg has been appointed the World Bank`s new Vice President for East Asia and Pacific by World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, effective February 1st, 2013.

Van Trotsenburg leads the Bank`s advisory services and lending operations in a dynamic region which now accounts for 40 percent of global growth.

He was previously the World Bank`s vice president for concessional finance and global partnerships. ***3***
