"We offer the seven areas (in the SOM II)," he said here on Tuesday when opened APEC SOM II on "Policy Partnership on Science Technology and Innovation" (PPSTI).
He explained the seven areas consist of agriculture and food security, energy, defense technology, information and communication technology (ICT), transportation, health and medicine.
Gusti Muhammad Hatta said the focus will give greater role to Indonesia which nearly 70 percents of its area is water.
"Technology transfer is the most profitable for Indonesia," he said.
He said that Indonesia`s technology capability has been increasing in recent years.
"APEC SOM II on PPSTI could help Indonesia realize to be an innovation-based country."
He stated that the knowledge transfer from developed nations is necessary for Indonesia as a developing country.
"All of nations have the same role in the international community," Gusti Muhammad Hatta said.
He said that the technology could improve productivity, services, safety and defense.
"Our country is located in tsunami-prone zone, and to anticipate the negative effects we should develop technology," he said.
